First time SDL Trados user, default settings

Question

I'm using SDL Trados Studio 2017 - Freelance for the first time and I've watched tutorials on default settings such as Language pairs etc. I've read some of the Trados studio manuals as well. Still, I've been having some problems setting these. Short instructions would be appreciated.

Generally I'd say go with the defaults when you get started. If you wish to set specific things then it would help if you explained what you wish to achieve since the settings contain a lot of options and without knowing a bit more it's very difficult to offer you advice.
