Termbase Viewer constantly getting focus, redrawing itself and/or popping up = REALLY ANNOYING!

Hi guys,

I asked this a long time ago, and guess what, it still annoys me. I do not want to see the Termbase Viewer redrawing itself, or have it forceful pop up (surprise! it's me again!), every tome I add a new term. I add a lot of new terms when translating, and do not want all kinds of stuff jumping around on my screen every time.

For example, in CafeTran, when you add a term pair with a shortcut, it is immediately visible in the Glossary pane, but that's it: nothing moves or changes, except the term pair is all of a sudden, silently, there. So peaceful and unobtrusive.

It's so annoying that I have taken to sliding it the Termbase Viewer pane off the screen, down at the bottom so I can just see its very top, for if I need to use it. This is the only way I can think of to make it not be so annoying. However, this is obviously not great in terms of usability, as I do need to use it occasionally. I am going to try leaving it there, and editing terms in MultiTerm (which I leave open on my second monitor).

Please allow us to silence the pesky little rascal.

  • Yeah, I tried all kinds of docking. I tried literally everywhere. However, no matter where I put the darned thing, it pops open every time I add a term, and as you all know by now, when you add a term and the Termbase Viewer is redrawn, it jiggles and jumps about quite a bit, desperately vying for your attention.

I invite you all to slide the little monkey off screen for a bit and try translating (and adding terms) like that. Try it for 10 mins. Your screen will suddenly feel a whole lot calmer and more peaceful that way. As it should be. I don't want to see it until/unless I need it.

Anyway, thanks for answering, and hopefully Development will have something interesting to report!
