Even if I remove the AT translation provider from Project Settings and set "Overwerwrite mode: "Min match: 79%" and "Overwrite existing translations if better match is found", AT segments are not getting replaced by high fuzzies from my active file TM. When I go back to the Editor window and select those segments, I see high fuzzy matches, over 80%, in the Translation results.
Why did these >79% matches not replace the AT translations in the file?

Are the AT segments set to confirmed (The status set to "Translated", "Translation Approved" or "Signed Off"?
The setting "Overwrite existing translations if better match is found" will skip confirm segments no matter what they are.
You will need to use "Always overwrite existing translation" or change the status of the segments I believe.

They were not confirmed. As I said in the heading: Pretranslation does not replace **unconfirmed** AT translated segments.

I tried to reproduce what you are saying in this video... I can't. But perhaps you can do something similar to show us what you are doing and then maybe we can see where the problem is coming from?
