PPT notes aren't being excluded in Studio 2014 SP2

Hi there

I've changed the dropdown boxes to "Exclude notes" under both PPT files types in File>Options, but the notes aren't being excluded and still appear at the end of slides in the editor. I've saved the PPTs in my project as 1997-2003 compatible and am wondering if this is the problem? The thing is, Studio 2014 doesn't process pptx, so my only option is to convert the PPTs down.

Does anyone know if there is a way for me to exclude notes at all?

Thanks in advance!

Alex

  • Hi Alex,

Can you make sure that you activate these settings before you process the file and create the project. So do this in File -> Options and then create the project.

Also 2014 does process PPTX, but perhaps just not the version of PPTX you have?

  • Hi Paul,

Thanks for the reply! Yes, I've changed the settings before processing the files - and have restarted the computer before processing, too. I've discovered that I *can* get it to work (i.e. I can exclude the notes in the editor) when processing files individually, but not when I create a project. I have 11 files, so would prefer not to work on them individually. I'm using the "default" setting under "create project based on a project template" as I'm assuming changing the settings in Options should change the default?

As I mentioned, for good measure I've changed the settings in Options to "Exclude notes" for both "Microsoft PowerPoint XP-2003" and "Microsoft PowerPoint XP-2007-2013". My version of Studio 2014 doesn't want to process the pptx files I have. I didn't realise there were different kinds of pptx - do you know where I can view what kind I have? I can't find that information in properties.

    Thanks again for your help
