Dates and figures : do source and target always have to match?

Hi,

Sometimes we have to use a date that is later in the target text than it is in the source text, and sometimes there's a mistake in the calculation of an amount that is only corrected in the target text.

Although many of us also change the date or amount in the source text, not everyone does. If the source is not corrected, does this mean that the next time a similar segment comes up in a different document, the date or amount won't be correct?

I haven't personally had any problem as these variables are correctly replaced in the next document if similar segments are encountered, but I'd like to know if others have had any issues in a similar situation. I did notice that if you deliberately create a date error in the translation result window, then the date can be wrong in your active segment -- until you put the correct matching date in the target active segment and accept it. The dates then become correct in the whole document if they are similarly formatted.

In any case, let me know about your experiences with this issue.
