When I hit letter "s" while editing, there is a long delay, then Translation Memory window pops up, for no reason!!!!!! (Trados Studio 2014, using GroupShare) Extremely time-wasting. Restarting does not help.

Seems to happen about 35% of the time when I hit the letter "s".

  • Hi again ,

If trying a different keyboard makes no difference then a Windows Repair then a Reset of Studio might help:

Windows Repair of SDL Studio 2014...

    1. Close all SDL applications.
    2. Open the Control Panel:
      • Windows Vista/7Start > Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.
      • Windows 8: Right-click on the screen at bottom-left corner and choose Control Panel > Uninstall a Program.
      • Windows 10: Right-click on Start > Control Panel > Select View by: Small Icons > Programs and Features.
    3. Click/highlight SDL Trados Studio 2014 and click Repair.
    4. Restart Studio.
After you've run the Windows Repair on Studio, navigate here:
C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\12.0.0.0 (I think this is the number for the 2014 version but just select the highest number)

    Rename the following 3 files:
    BaseSettings.xml
    Plugincache.xml
    UserSettings.xml

Then open Studio. Fresh versions of these folders will be recreated when you open and close Studio. You can delete the old ones then (or just delete them in the first place).

    I hope this helps!
    All the best
    Ali :)
