Studio adds qualifiers like <target state="new"> in XLF files. How to stop this, how to remove them

 Dear Forum / dear support

Studio seems to add qualifiers such as "state" in to the <target> statement.

Unfortunatelly, there are systems which won´t allow an import or this will result in errors if there are new attributes added (which were not exported bei these systems (eg. SAP, Drupal).

We are looking for a method which suites an automated process. Thanks for helping.

  • Hi ,

I don't think SAP have this problem dealing with an optional attribute in an XLIFF import. I know Giles mentioned this but I don't know if he was working with an SAP system or SAP themselves. I'll double check as we know then very well, but I doubt this is a problem for them.

I have also asked our filetype manager why we don't have an option to not even include this optional state, but I do think any system handling XLIFF should be able to manage optional information allowed in the XLIFF spec. So it's not necessarily a Studio problem... although I do like the idea of being as flexible as possible so we can help those who are not.
