F-function shortcut keys not working in studio all of a sudden

Hello,

All of a sudden, all f-function shortcut keys within trados stopped working. Instead, the designated windows functions are activated. For example, pressing F11 anywhere in studio did and should activate full screen, but now it just launches the application switcher. Other shortcut keys I've set that are still active do the same. F2 supposed to do a 1:1 alignment, now lowers the volume. You get the idea. Also, I use a company computer that has BIOS tinkering disabled so I can't jump into BIOS to disable the functions.

Hopefully, an answer besides doing a reset (I've done this too many times...) can be provided.

  • Hi Keenan,

On my laptop computer, Fn is a toggle/lock key, so it's either locked or unlocked depending on its state, and it has a light to determine what state it's in. On my desktop computer keyboard, however, Fn is not a lock key and it must be pressed along with the appropriate function key to activate the alternate function, which is, I imagine, the same situation you have. It definitely sounds like the state of your Fn key has been reversed. I don't really have a solution to offer about this, but an online search for "reversed Fn key" gives quite a few hits, particularly having to do with Toshiba computers, apparently. Maybe there will be a solution there that works for you?
