I Have a question regarding an .xlf file. Is it possible to add tags in the target segment? For example if you have an French text and you want to write troisième as 3eme but the "eme" in superscript. Is that possible?

Yes this is quite easy and straightforward to do (please excuse the simple example here)
In the editor- just click on Quick Insert and choose what you need-
Any further formatting you need you can do this via the formatting tab a little further to the right.
