Date information is not reflected properly for Studio projects in Windows Explorer...is it normal?

Dear Studio 2017 users,

I am not sure if this is related to Windows settings or it's related to Studio, but I have noticed the "Date modified" column in Windows Explorer does not have the correct date information.  When each project is in folder view in Explorer, the date shown in Date modified is the date when project was created, not the date the project was last modified.  Is there a way to change this so that the "date modified" displays the correct information?

Thank you.

Chunyi

  • Hi Kelly,

The time shown is actually the project creation date, not the date the project was last modified.
Take the project I was working on yesterday for instance, the timestamp displayed in "Date modified" column in File Explorer (sorry I mis-typed it as "Windows Explorer" in my question) is 8/23/2017. If I open the project and go to the target folder view, then I see the Date modified column display the information (10/29/2017) correctly.
I wonder if there is a way to have the correct information displayed on the project folder level in File Explorer instead of having it on the target folder level.

  • Hi Chunyi Chen,
I read your post , and it took a few time before I found this issue. I think you can post a screen snapshot if possible. I am using SDL Trados Studio 2015. It also has this issue. The file summary shows the incorrect last modified time.

    Best Regards!

  • Hi Lingling,

I am glad to know that I am not making a storm in a tea pot and someone else also considers this an "issue":)
I agree that screenshots would illustrate the issue better, but I can't really display the project information here and hiding the sensitive information or creating a dummy project takes time. That's why I ended up typing up the problem.
Let's wait and see the response from SDL:)

  • Hi ,

That's quite interesting and not anything I've ever noticed before. I'm surprised windows doesn't update the folder date since the sdlproj file does reflect the last modified date. Perhaps this is deliberate behaviour to display the created date... I don't know. I'll ask the question.

    Regards
