Error “Object reference not set to an instance of an object” when trying to generate a target translation

Hello,

 

I have been getting an error message (Object reference not set to an instance of an object) when trying to generate a target translation in Studio 2015 SR3 several times this month.

This error happens to some packages provided by a certain client, but never happen to those provided by other clients. I also tried to extract the source file (excel file) from one of the packages by using “Save Source As” option in “Advanced Save,” but I got the same error message.

I reported this error to my client but they could not solve the problem. I am not sure if this error is caused by my software or the packages provided by the client.

 

I wonder if anyone can help me with this matter.

    Thank you so much for your kind response. I created and sent the return package to my client. They said they could import it but could not generate the target translation. They gave me a new package this morning and asked me to check if the same error happened. This time I did not have any errors when generating a target translation, so I assume it was the package's problem...

    It may be a problem with client's Studio.
    Please try following steps:

    1. Rename the SDL Trados Studio and ProjectApi folder
    C:\Users\[User_Name]\AppData\Local\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\12.0.0.0

    2. rename the SDL Trados Studio and ProjectApi folder
    C:\Users\[User_Name]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\12.0.0.0 -

    3. Open Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.

    4. Select SDL Trados Studio 2015 and click Repair.

    Could you please try to generate file on client's Studio after these action?
