Error message when input is Devanagari Unicode for Indian languages- Marathi / Hindi.

I am new user to SDL Trados Studio 2017. When I try to input Devnagari font (for Indian languages-Marathi / Hindi) using Unicode from Google IME, I get an error message

"Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that the other memory is corrupt"

and the Software closes down.

I have tried to get help from Trados, they tried to fix it once. It worked a for a day or two and the problem repeated. Now they say, that I should purchase their AMC.

Why should I spend a large sum for a software bug?

Can anyone help?

  • Hi Uddhav,

I have checked our records and it appears the previous logged cases were not in relation to 'bugs' but file based issues hence the suggestion to purchase PSMA.
If you contact your local SDL reseller (where you brought your SDL Studio license from) they will be able to advise on PSMA pricing-
This is just 20% of the license price and INCLUDES new releases during the contract and unlimited support tickets.

In regards to the error message, this is most likely to stem from MultiTerm.

Both Studio and MultiTerm- MUST be on the same versio!
Therefore please make sure you start Studio- check for updates (run any/all updates)-
Then open MultiTerm and search again for updates.
This generally cures this specific error message.

    Kind regards

    Steve
