TradosStudio 2015 Depenedency file not found

Dear

Since a time I have a problem to open my studio project files.

After I have opened a project and edited and saved it on the next day when I try to open the file again, I become a error message:

Dependency file not found:...

Original path:...

Would you like to browse for this file...

I click "no" and open the file but after I create the return package my customer has serious problems to open the files.

How can ı solve this problem, can you please help me

Kind regards

  • You should NOT click "No". You should click "Yes" and browse for the original source file used to create the bilingual SDLXLIFF.
The original path to original source file is displayed in that message.

    EDIT:
It's also important how exactly are you "opening your Studio projects" - describe what exactly do you do... Are you perhaps opening files directly from email? Or from storages like Dropbox, Google Drive, etc?
I get such files from translators from time to time, where Studio is asking for some weirdly named dependency file (like 3u5knmjd.x7f etc.) from some weird path pointing to Temporary Internet Files folder, etc... which would suggest that the translator has done some strange harakiri with the originally sent package, instead of properly storing it first to some reasonable place and then opening it properly in Studio...
