Can't view or save reports, can't access Help web resuources

Question

I am working with SDL Trados 2015 and suddenly can't view any reports in Trados or save them as .Excel files. Instead, I get a longish error message starting "Failed to display report. System.Xlm.Xls.XlsLoadException: Error saving compiled state: Cvtres.exe not found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131001) An error ocurred at (0,0)." 
 Also, I get an error message "Access denied" with all web resources under the Help tag. 
 Has anybody else encountered this error and has an idea what I could do? I have already restarted the computer and tried with different projects to no avail.

Have you tried resetting Studio? 
 
Rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio: 
 
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\12.0.0.0 
 
If this fails - then you can log a free support ticket via your SDL account- Licensing and Installation. 
 
You might also want to take a look at the following app(s)- as workarounds in the meantime 
 appstore.sdl.com/.../ 
 
This should then allow you to at least copy the basic reports out into Excel 
 
or maybe SDL Analyse?
