Settings reset to default! Help

Question

Dear All, 
 After several problems with Trados 2017 SR1, I reverted to the the version before SR1, only to find out that all my settings have been reset to default ones! No plugins installed, default windows etc. I can't also open the project I've been working on, because of some weird message telling me that the file is wrong. 
 Could anyone tell me how where the settings file is stored on the computer? Thanks in advance!

I think this is referring to the settings in your app data folder. From your description I think it's likely that your previous settings have been completely removed. This is also an essential step because otherwise you will have settings related to SR1 in an older version of studio and this may not work at all. 
 
I know this won't help but just a tip as I do this quite often myself, all of the plug-ins that I have installed in my working version of studio are zipped up into a backup folder that I keep somewhere safe. This way when I do a complete reset between beta builds and things like that I can restore all of the plug-ins just by unzipping the single zip file straight into my plug-ins folder and then I don't have to install them all one at a time. 
 
With regard to other settings, I never try to transfer those because this can always lead to problems being transferred from one version to another.
