Fragment match reliability

Fragment matches appear in the analysis within the different match types (100%, 95%-99% etc.). In the editor view in the fragment match window the TU shows up but I can't see which match type it is. Shouldn't it say which match type it is so that I know how reliable it is?

I was just wondering why they are scored in the analysis?

    Hi

That's a great question.  I think the way to look at it is that fragment matching and match repairs is a productivity feature for a translator, but you don't really know how useful the matches will actually be for repairing.  Just because a fuzzy match is repaired does not mean it's the right repair!  However, what the analysis will tell you is how useful a particular TM might be for a particular text for example.  So if you were preparing resources the analysis might be helpful in making a decision over which resources to use.  It might also be helpful to know that the text you have analysed contains a lot of text that you have very relevant TMs for and this might give you confidence when making an estimate of the time it will take you to do a job.

There is no definite science to this, but I think it may be useful for those sort of things.

    Regards
