Situation: I add 2 or 3 TMs to a project (Studio 2017, up to date CU). Clicking on each in turn in the 'Add TM' window, I see Studio telling me they need upgrading. But they are big (190,000 TUs). So I copy these TMs into a specific folder on their own. Now I use the TM Lifting plugin in Studio - menu item bottom left as a 'View'. Here I browse and load the specific folder, so that I can benefit from background processing while Studio works on these big TMs and I can continue working. When finished, I copy the new TMs back to their original location, overwriting the old versions. All OK.
Problem: Now I go back to the Project Settings. When I click to select one of these TMs in the list for the project, Studio STILL tells me it needs upgrading. And if I upgrade from here, this is done as foreground processing and I can't use Studio to continue working.
Question: WHY does the TM Lifting view plugin NOT upgrade the TMs? What is it doing and not doing? HOW can I make the TM Lifting plugin actually upgrade my TMs? WHAT am I doing wrong?
By the way, I have version 1.0.7.0 of the plug-in. I have not updated to 1.0.8.0. It didn't make any difference (but we guessed that, didn't we? :-)
TIA, Simon
