Open TTX file to proofread

Question

My client has sent me some ttx files to proofread. How do I open these ttx files in Studio 2017 without changing the file type? Studio can open open them via File>Translate Single Document, but I can then only save them as a new sdlxliff/sdlproj file. Can I not open and save the file as is?

The Studio interface is not very intuitive when it comes to doing this.....

 There are few ways to open and read a bilingual ttx file in a readable form. 
 If you open it in Studio, which I would recommend, it converts to an sdlxliff and, as Evzen says, you simply have to save it back to ttx at the end using File > Save Target As and it will become a ttx file again that should be fine - unless there are unusual characters whose encoding is different in Studio 2017 to whichever version of TagEditor the ttx was created in. If the ttx was converted from the most recent version of QuickSilver (ITD<>IASCII), it should be fine.

 If you want to read it as a TTX without conversion then you need to open it in Trados TagEditor, version 2007 was the last before Studio came out. I'm not sure if this is still purchasable.
