XTRF integration - error on creation of project: Unexpected exception when initializing task: Populate Project Translation Memories

Hi 
 We use XTRF integrated with Trados Studio 2017, and recently the integration has stopped working. 
 When creating a new project, the project is created (we see the files appear), but then an error is reported from XTRF Unexpected exception when initializing task: Populate Project Translation Memories. An error occurred creating a file based translation memory. 
 
 This stops the integration and the project is removed. 
 Has anyone else encountered this problem (perhaps since SR1, but I'm not sure??)

In case anyone else encounters this - the length of the pathname for the TM was too long for Trados. 
 
Previously when this has been an issue, I've seen a 'path too long' exception from the Trados API, but for some reason, when the path is around 250 characters, we instead just got the 'unexpected exception'. 
 
Having shortened the path format significantly, it works perfectly again.
