SDL Studio 2017 Error message: Authentication Failed. Please check that the username and password entered are correct for this server.

Hi There!
I have been working with a server-based groupshare translation memory for many yeras in Studio 2011. I recently upgraded to Studio 2017 and now have problems with the serverbased translation memory. Studio 2017 started out of the blue asking for username and password in order to connect with the memory. After entering my password, I get following error message: Authentication Failed. Please check that the username and password entered are correct for this server. The client created a new password, but this one does not work either.

  • Hi Anna,

Can you confirm what version of GroupShare you are trying to connect to? Perhaps review this article:

  • Hi Paul,
Thanks for your reply. The owner of the server confirmed that their version and mine should be compatible. They are also positive that the problem is in my computer and in some of my settings. They accessed my computer and fixed the problem in my settings, so I can now access the translation memory, but Studio still warns me for "invalid login details" when i Finalize the translations.

  • This ended with Studio 2017 crashing completely, the program was impossible to open. I uninstalled the whole thing and downloaded it again. Before installing it again I cleaned up my computer and deleted and uninstalled everything except the translations themselves that related to Studio 2011. I also found some old SDLX-files related to Studio 2007. After cleaning up I restarted the computer and installed Studio 2017 again. After restarting again, it now seems to be working correctly, fingers crossed.
