Very slow performance: Trados Studio 2014

Hello everyone,

I am using SDL Trados Studio 2014 on Windows 10.
I find that when I press the "Ctrl + Enter", "Ctrl + Alt + Enter" or "Ctrl + Alt + F" keys (after completing the translation in a target segment) the Studio response time is very long - i.e. after pressing the keys I mentioned, it takes roughly 30 - 45 seconds before I can start translating the next segment (cursor in the next segment).

I reset my computer recently and I use a powerful virus program. When I investigate this issue, it is generally said that virus programs should be checked but it is not related to it, all other programs and internet are very fast but sdl is very slow.

Could you kindly let me know what could the possible cause of the speed retardation when going to next segment after pressing these keys be?
An early response from you.

Thanks and best regards...

Melis :)

  • Hi

Such issues are not easy to track without deeper investigation.

However the very step i would take is to ensure Studio 2014 is added to the Antivirus 'Whitelist'- (as you have not said you have done this)

A simply google search will tell you how to do this if you are unsure for your specific AV provider.

The next thing that could cause such a delay I suspect, would be if you are using a server based TM (own and/or clients).

First disable the server based TM- proceed to work without this TM and then if the difference is speed is noticeable, then you will know for sure its the server response time that is the cause.

Let me know how this works out.
