I have the following errors in Trados 2017.Please arrange to have an interactive session to solve he same
1.ERROR Message
When I want to preview a file in TRADOS, the error message appears as
“Office Document Error
An error was encountered while previewing the file. Please check your MS Office installation.’’
What type of errors are expected in MS Office .How to correct the same?
2.Error message 2 even before opening windows
Object ref not set to an instance of an object
3An error whilst parsing the xmlPlese check whether the fileat C:/ WIDGETSETTING IS WELL FORMED
..hEXADECIMAL VALUE 0X00 IS AN INVALID CHARACTER.LINE1,POSITION1

i am sorry to raise such a host of complaints.However they are very severe and i got stuck up and am loosing big clients.Hence the request for correction interactively in my computer.

    If you have a support contract then you can log a case for this benefit.  Otherwise you rely on the other users and help from SDL staff in this forum... which may involve some interactive help and may not.  Depends on availability.

    You should have also raised separate threads for each issue as this is very difficult to work through and most users will probably ignore the post as there is no end, and your points are hard to find.  Help others to help you is a good rule in here.

    It's not errors you have to correct in Word, rather it's how you make use of the preview in Studio.  First of all note the following which applies to the new Word filetype in Studio 2017:

    • Embedded – does not support click to run (the type of installer used with current versions of MS Office)
    • MS Word – supports all including click to run
    • HTML – supports all including click to run

    IMPORTANT: Don't attempt the Embedded Option at all if you need to run the HTML preview as this may prevent the correct functioning of the HTML preview afterwards.

    Your errors are most likely related to these issues above.

    Unless you use the MultiTerm widget then I'd recommend you uninstall it.  It's mostly used by people who don't have Studio or MultiTerm as it gives them access to a corporate terminology database for example.  If you want to use it then try renaming this folder and restart the widget:

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL MultiTerm Widget\MultiTerm14\

    It would be more helpful if you told us what you were doing when you saw this.  But it might be related to the weblookup tool if you are using this?

    Again... more information on just this point please.  But in the meantime try a reset as this cures a multitude of ills.  

    Rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio:

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0

    So the path would become this:

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0_old

    If you can't find this folder then you need to unhide your hidden files/folders:

    www.howtogeek.com/.../

    You may also have to do a MultiTerm reset and it might help. Rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart MultiTerm:

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL MultiTerm\MultiTerm14

    Where did the file come from?  Is it part of a package?

    This is an application from the appstore so you are even in the wrong forum here!  Try reading the help under known issues, and also make sure that you have killed every instance of Excel that might be running in the background of your computer when you use this tool.

    I think that was all your issues but it really would be easier if you just split them up into coherent separate posts.
