Converting a TM from Déjà Vu

Hi everyone!

I need to know how to convert a TM from Déjà Vu to use it in Studio. I think I got the wrong type of files from the client. From what I looked up, it seems like what I need is a *.tmx file.

This is what I have (I obscured the names, but wanted to show the file types):

Your Name Here Original SP.dvmdb

Your Name Here Original SP.dvmdx

Your Name Here Original SP.en.dvmdi

Your Name Here Original SP.es.dvmdi

Is it possible to convert one of these to a .tmx file? Or should I just ask the client to provide that? And if so, does anyone know how to produce a .tmx file in Déja Vu? (I'm not sure whether the client knows how to do this)

Thanks for the help!

best,

Becky

  • Hi ,

I can't answer this... will need someone with more experience using DVX. I spent 10 mins or so trying to change the way the TM is exported but no matter what I do DVX seems to order the languages alphabetically. I'm going to guess that this is not important for DVX because it's a database and you can add as many languages as you like, or change the order as you see fit, into one database.

It's not important for Studio either insofar as you just create the SDLTM in the direction you like and then import the TMX and Studio will put the languages in the direction you need. So maybe it's not an issue, at least between DVX and Studio?

I hope someone here knows the answer because now I really want to know too!

    Regards
