Concordance results hiding automatically and strange Translation Results behaviour

A colleague is experiencing this problem after installing Studio 2017 (not SR1, the original release) on a Windows 7 Home machine with a 2.5 GHz CPU, 8 GB RAM and a resolution of 1360x768. When opening a file in the Editor and clicking inside a segment to translate, the Concordance search is correctly launched automatically if no TM hits are found, but only to disappear immediately afterwards and returning to the TM Results window, which of course doesn't show any results. Even if she selects a word and invokes the Concordance search using right-click or F3, the Concordance search window appears briefly and then again the Translation Results window shows again.

Another strange behaviour is when there is a TM result and this is applied correctly, i.e. inserted into the target segment: the Translation Results window doesn't show the result. To see it, she must hovers with the mouse above the Translation Results Window (on the name of the Translation Results window tab), but it disappears again when moving away the mouse and shows again "No translation results to display".

Is this a known bug?

Thank you in advance.

  • Another update, :

In the clean install on a new Windows 10 machine, the colleague experienced again this strange window layout behaviour. All Windows (TM, termbase, Multiple Source Language etc.) had gone crazy and the TM Window and Termbase Recognition/Search tabs were on top (and not on the bottom). I thought the problem was that the windows were stuck in Auto Hide – it was impossible to deactivate the Auto Hide option. So I closed all windows and reopened the one by one and now everything seems to be working fine.

And yes, we tried Reset Window Layout on an English GUI language before, but that didn't work.

I'm glad now all is okay, but I'm still wondering what might be the cause of this problem.

    Thank you,
    Sabina
