No translation memory found

Question

Hello 
 I have been using SDL Trados for a number of years and this issue started with the 2017 update. It is the same for new projects and even with old projects that always worked before 
 When I finalise the file my TM is not updating. I get the message "No translation memories found to update for language pair xxx-xxx" It is very frustrating. I have checked everything I can think of:- 
 - I have set a TM for the project 
 - The language choices are the same 
 - I have TM update clicked in general settings 
 - Selecting update main memories from the batch task tab 
 For my latest project, I have even created a brand new translation memory but it is just not updating. I get the same error message. 
 Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Hi Louise Taylor , 
 
Try removing the TM from your specific language pair so you have them in one location. If it's a different TM then put them both at the same level. So either All Language Pairs or all in Specific Language Pairs. I have seen this sort of problem before where the TMs are not all at the same level.

 In the screenshot provided, you have the TM at the specific (ES>EN) language pair level- do you also have TM's at the All Language Pair option. 
 Where are you actually saving the TM's (to the default folder that Studio creates- or to a different location?- (if you hover the mouse over the particular |TM you can see) 
 
 If you create a new test project using a new TM (at All Language Pair level) and saving this to the default location, is there still an issue?
