Can we update terminology in translation memories in a quick and easy way?

Hi All,

We have old translation memories and have new terms to change in them. What would you suggest??

  • Hello

From time to time it is of course important to keep the TM's up to date and delete/edit certain entries.

Therefore there are numerous options available in Studio

    Maintenance Options

The translation memory maintenance tools available in SDL Trados Studio enable you to:

    • View translation units and their associated fields (custom and system). You can use a filter to exclude unwanted translation units from the view.

    • Search for particular translation units. You can use filters to refine the search.

    • Edit and delete translation units.

    • Assign values to custom fields or update existing field values.

    • Import and export translation units.

    • Import and export filters.

    • Use batch tools to edit or delete multiple translation units simultaneously.

If you know exactly what needs to be edited/deleted- then the quickest way is probably to use the Batch Edit/Batch Delete functions-

Depending on the size and number of the TM's, enough time should be set aside to ensure the integrity and quality of the TM's.

    Hope this helps.
