Recurring problem with Trados Studio 2017 freezing for several minutes every time I confirm a segment

I have a recurring problem with Trados Studio 2017 that also occurred to some extent with the 2015 version (I'm using Freelance). Periodically, when I am working on a file it freezes for several minutes every time I confirm a segment, i.e. the screen goes white, the curser spins and the program is "not responding".I have made sure that all SDL applications are exluded from my anti-virus application, so that isn't the problem. It's causing me to lose a lot of time and therefore is costing my business money, as well as being incredibly frustrating. I would be very grateful if anybody could help.
