Autotext problem - hiccups resulting in treating keypresses as shortcuts

If I have AutoText enabled (which is useful and quickens work at times), at times I have some problems when matches are found - at the exact moment when the window with items to be inserted is displayed, I get a significant "hiccup" and unless I stop and choose to insert a suggestion, the next few entered letters frequently result in being recognized as a keyboard shortcut - like ctrl+o (this is especially irritating since after I close it, I get switched into Projects view). For the time being I am deleting said shortcut altogether however I would think this is not working as intended...

 Could this be connected with TM I am using? After it upgraded to 2017 version it contains 2.026.840 units and is now 6.5 GB and although it resides on SSD I could view this being a problem...

    Hi Paul. Thank you for taking the time to reply.

    Ctrl+O - when autotext shows up and letter O is used
    Ctrl+L - "L"
    Ctrl+H - "H"
    Ctrl+F - "F"
    ctrl+a - "A" - annoying since it first quickly selects everything in a segment and then next keypress deletes it
    Ctrl+B - "B"
    So pretty standard - working on Polish Windows 10


    There also is a problem if an AutoSuggest entry is present in all uppercase, but I need it in lowercase (and vice versa)- entering successive letters of a word is extremely slow and sometimes results in similar patterns - "EXCLamatION"

    Tried changing Repeat Delay and Repeat Rate in keyboard settings but it apparently has no effect on this issue.

    Hi ,

    This sounds more like a keyboard problem to me, at least I think it's worth investigating some solutions for this first. So perhaps make sure you have disabled "sticky" keys first of all.

    I then found an article on a Microsoft site referring to this problem with W10 where this can apparently occur with corrupted keyboard drivers. Two solutions were offerred.

    Method 1.
    Try to run the hardware and device troubleshooter .
    Follow the below steps.
    1. Press windows + X key then go to the Control Panel.
    2. Search for troubleshooting then click on hardware and device.
    3. Under hardware and device click Configure a device.
    4. Follow the on screen instructions.

    Method 2.
    Try to uninstall and install latest keyboard drivers in compatibility mode from manufacturer site and check.
    Follow the below steps to install in compatibility mode.
    1. Right click on driver installation file and select Troubleshoot in compatibility mode and check in the Run this program in compatibility mode.
    2. Tap or click the drop down box and select the operating system, then tap or click OK.
    3. Try installing the driver and check.
    4. Follow the on screen instructions.

    Then I found a number of things people have tried that seemed to help with a problem like this here, maybe worth a try if nothing else helps even though this seems to refer to W7. The solutions seem harmless enough:
