Error 'We're sorry. We can't open [file name].docx because we found a problem with its contents.'

I'm using SDL Trados Studio 2017 SR1  and Word 2007 and I'm having this problem:

Error 'We're sorry. We can't open [file name].docx because we found a problem with its contents

Then I erased TOC before creating a new project, but I the problem was not solved.

So I moved up Microsoft Word 2007-2016 filetype in Options and created a new project, but the problem wasn't solved either

Can you help please?

  • Go to the menu "View", then select "Tag ID" instead of any other tag view. Then go to the very first segment in the document and look at the tag in front of it. It will tell you the file type used. Then create a new project, DESELECT this very file type to make sure another one is used and try again. Make also sure, you do this within your project - changing any settings via File -> Options is not enough.
