URI error message in Studio 2017

I am trying to translate a document in Studio 2017 and I get the following message: The specified URI is not a valid server-based memory URI. Parameter name: uri. When I click on OK, it opens the window to select the languages but as soon as i try to select the first language I get the same message and it does not allow me to do anything else. Also when I open a translation I have already done in the past, I cannot click on project settings without getting this same message. The same also happens when I click on "Options". All TMs were upgraded. Any solution for this annoying error?

  • Hello Sidra Baksh (SidraBaksh) ,

This is most normally associated with a corrupt Studio Plugin (folder) and should be easily fixable-

Go to the following path- and rename the highlighted folder

And finally run a Studio repair

    Run a repair installation

    1. Close all SDL applications.
    2. Open the Control Panel:
      • Windows Vista/7Start > Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.
      • Windows 8: Right-click on the screen at bottom-left corner and choose Control Panel > Uninstall a Program.
      • Windows 10: Right-click on Start > Control Panel > Select View by: Small Icons > Programs and Features.
    3. Click/highlight the relevant SDL product from the list (e.g. SDL Trados Studio 2015) and click Repair.
    4. Restart Studio.

Please let me know if everything is now working again.
