pre-populate file not working

Question

Hello 
 I have several languages with TM's. When I pre-translate/pre-populate each language the statistics file shows leverage (as does the TM look-up when I'm in the editor mode of the file) but the file itself has not been pre-translated? Can you advise a fix?

If your TM is the correct translation then you probably need to make sure you check the option to overwrite existing if better match found. Although I think is the default so perhaps check you used this first.

If you uninstall and reinstall you won't lose your licence. You don't even have to return it for that operation. But even if you do lose it you can reset it easily enough yourself by using the Self Service option in your MySDL account for SDL Trados 2015 and SDL Trados Studio 2017. 
 
Use this KB article ( gateway.sdl.com/.../communityknowledge ) and follow the instructions.

I also just tested your workflow and actually I don't think you are doing anything wrong. If your segments have an AT status and they are confirmed, as you are showing, then Studio doesn't see these as better matches, just different ones. I think it's debatable that Studio should handle them this way as I personally would always consider a 100% match from my TM to be better than a confirmed AT match. I'll check this to see if this is intended or not. 
 
Back to your question... if you use the option to always overwrite existing translations and ensure that the minimum match value is set to 100% then this may be your answer. But I'd back up your files first and then have a play just in case this isn't what you want. Certainly this worked for me and the TM took precedence over the confirmed AT result.
