Translation provider threw exception and The translation memory data file is corrupt

Question

Hello! 
 I am using SDL TRados Studio 2011. I received the following message when trying to create a new project: 
 Translation provider threw exception (the screenshot is attached). 
 The file I was trying to translate was added to the Project but no statistics are available for it (no wordcount, etc.). When I try to translate the file and confirm strings, they appear confirmed but when I return to them, they are unsaved in the TM. 
 I searched for solutions and it seems that the TM is the problem. It is very big - almost 700,000 translation units. I tried opening the Translation Memory and received the following error: 
 An error occurred when searching the Translation Memory. The TM may may contain invalid Translation Units. (The translation memory data file is corrupt.) 
 I tried using SDL TMRepair but had no success. Please help! I really need my TM as soon as possible!

Very happy to hear this. Now you should export it to TMX and do this regularly to make sure you always have a backup in place.

If the TM is corrupt then there may not be anything we can do to help. I would have suggested trying SDLTmRepair but if you have tried this already then your TM may be beyond repair. 
 
If you want to send it to me I'll be happy to take a look and see if I get lucky, but no guarantees. IT's always a good idea to back up your TM regularly, and preferably to a text based format as well like TMX.
