cannot set the active view to a view that is disabled or not available

 Hello,

I have studio 2015 installed.

I get this mesage "Cannot set the active view to a view that is disabled or not available" when I try to Exit SDL.

I read that the problem could be solved with "Reset Window Layout". But that does not work for me. Instead I get "Object reference not set to an instance of an object".

Any solutions?

In advance, thank

Kaarina

  • Hi

This may be resolved by running a Windows Repair on Studio:

    Close all SDL applications.

    1. Open the Control Panel as follows:

Windows Vista/7: Start > Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.

Windows 8: Right-click on the screen at bottom-left corner and choose Control Panel > Uninstall a Program.

Windows 10: Right-click on Start > Control Panel > Select View by: Small Icons > Programs and Features.

    2. Click/highlight 'SDL Trados Studio 2015' in the list and click 'Repair' on the top toolbar. It will take a few minutes, wait until it has finished.

    3. Restart Studio.

If this doesn't work, try the following:

    1. Via Windows Explorer, navigate to:

    C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\12.0.0.0

(Where [USERNAME] is your user name)

    2. Delete or rename the folder (as 12.0.0.0_old for example)

    3. Restart Studio. A new folder will automatically be created when you close Studio. You can delete the old one if you just renamed it.

If this doesn't work, let us know and we can look deeper.

    All the best,

    Alison
