cannot set the active view to a view that is disabled or not available

 Hello,

I have studio 2015 installed.

I get this mesage "Cannot set the active view to a view that is disabled or not available" when I try to Exit SDL.

I read that the problem could be solved with "Reset Window Layout". But that does not work for me. Instead I get "Object reference not set to an instance of an object".

Any solutions?

In advance, thank

Kaarina

  • Hi Kaarina,

I generally run into this error message when I have completed a project and removed it from the Studio list of projects.

Studio will often display this message if you do not open another project first before exiting the program.

This problem still occurs in Studio 2017 (fully up-to-date version).

It does not affect me much any more, as I move my project folders to another directory when I finish a project.

Instead of removing the project from the Studio list, I leave the project in the list, exit Studio and then move the project folder.

When I start Studio again, it can no longer find the project folder and Studio automatically removes the project from its list.

This procedure comes in handy when I am only working on one project (i.e. when I don't have another project to open before exiting Studio).

    Best regards,
