Is there a way to deactivate the red bracketed line in source text (terminology recognition)?

Hi everybody,

I quite often have long segments with many words that have previously been added to my termbase. So the source text is cluttered with a wealth of red brackets, making it very hard to read and understand the already complex long sentence.

As a makeshift solution, I open the actual document to read the sentence first in the display of my linking (also with 1.5 spacing between lines), but this not totally satisfactory.

Any other suggestions? Or is there already a function to switch the bracketed line off and I haven't found it yet?

    Hi ,

    as far as I know, red is the set colour for indicating recognised terms in the Editor window and it can't be turned off. There is an app available from the AppStore that changes the colour scheme but I doubt it includes this basic setting.

    A termbase is usually best employed for individual terms while actively translating or reviewing, rather than whole sentences as these sentences can also contain individual terms that are also in the termbase.

    Maybe you could create a dedicated termbase containing these sentences but keep it turned off (unticked in the termbase list*) while you are working. You could then run a terminology verification using that dedicated termbase after/before you translate/proofread. That way you could see the individual terms that are in the 'main' termbase while you are working. (*list in your project settings - or File>Options if you don't use projects.

    You could even include these long sentences in a dedicated TM that you could use to pretranslate and/or have visible in your TM window while you work. This would leave any individual termbase terms clearly indicated in the Editor window.

    Just a thought...
