Creating a New Project, I receive this message at the first screen, when using the default: "An error occurred whilst trying to determine the file version."

Has anyone seen this before?  This occurs in my version of Studio 2015 SR3, right at the start of the creation of the Project, when clicking Next on the default choice for a Project template... The Tags selection does not go beyond the letter "a" in my browser (Firefox), sorry...

  • Hi ,

Are you using your own project templates for your project or the defaults? If you are using your own then delete it and recreate, so not the default you just tried. If that doesn't help, or if you are not using your own templates then try a Studio reset.

Rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio:

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\12.0.0.0

So the path would become this:

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\12.0.0.0_old

If you can't find this folder then you need to unhide your hidden files/folders:

    www.howtogeek.com/.../
