Error window: Invoke or BeginInvoke cannot be called on a control until the window handle has been created

Question

Hello, I need some help! 
 I updated Studio and now it doesn't open. It come out a window of error: Invoke or BeginInvoke cannot be called on a control until the window handle has been created.

Studio should still open after you dismiss the error message, and the message should go away altogether if you select "Do not automatically reopen previously edited documents" in Options-Editor-Startup.

Well, if you set the options again to automatically reopen previous documents (documents that were open when you closed Studio), you will get the same error message again every time you open Studio.

If Studio won't open at all then you probably need a reset. You didn't mention the version you are using so this is for Studio 2017. 
 
Rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio: 
 
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0 
 
So the path would become this: 
 
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0_old 
 
If you can't find this folder then you need to unhide your hidden files/folders: 
 
 www.howtogeek.com/.../

In that case can you first delete the _old folders and repeat the process as I explained above. Just to ensure we are getting a fresh start. The existence of that folder simply means Studio isn't using that particular folder. 
 
Then can you run the installer for Studio again as admin. Right-click on the installer and select "run as administrator". Then try again, once Studio starts, if you get the error again, then go to View -> Reset Window Layout and see if this helps. 
 
If it doesn't then I think you need to log a support case. For licensing or installation issues that prevent you from working we have a route for all customers to get help. This can be achieved really quickly using this link:

You have two options: 
 
1. Submit a case using a webform 
2. Use live chat to get a licence reset 
 
You want to use the first option and make sure that you refer to this thread so the teams can see what you have tried already.

Hello Rosalia, 
although the option is already select, the value is not saved... ie. select any other option and then again the third one (Do not automatically re-open...). This should solve the issue. At least this worked for us on several machines.
