.sdlxliff is exporting the source content instead of target content when I try to export the file in the target format (MS Excel). Could you please help me find a solution?

.sdlxliff in question available upon request (cannot attach). When I go to Batch Tasks > Export Files > Target Version > Finish I get an English excel file, when it should be in Spanish. Any thoughts on why this might be happening? It appears to be pulling source content instead of target in the export.

  • Hi ,

I have seen something similar with older version of the Excel filetype. What version of Studio are you using and what version of the Excel filetype are you using?

The solution in the past was to locate where the language changed in the sdlxliff and then copy course to target for the paragraph before and after, and including, the affected segment. Sometimes tags that are not exposed to the user (bug in the older versions) don't get carried over correctly during translation so copying source to target for all segments in that location can solve the problem.

Feel free to send me the SDLXLIFF and original source file if you'd like me to take a look? pfilkin@sdl.com
