Performing revision on .wsxz and .sdlprx files

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping you can help shed some light on an issue I have, as there is a recurring problem my client and I are trying to resolve.

The structure of my workflow for a specific account is roughly as follows:

Client Y asks Agency X to revise a file Client Y sent out to be translated. Agency X assigns me the task. They send me the following files:

tasks_XXXXXXXX.wsxz
XXXXXXXXX.sdlrpx

But I can't perform the revision. I can't open the return package because I didn't create the project and the .wsxz file is the original package sent to the translator, but assigned to me, so it doesn't contain the translation I am to revise.

My PM colleague has noted that other translators have no problem with revising with this workflow, so I'm at a loss. Am I incorrect in thinking that I cannot open a return package plus a World Server package for review? Or is there something I am doing wrong?

Thanks in advance!

  • Hello

There are a few things to remember here

1- Theoretically a translator that has been assigned a project from WordServer could email you the content of the package-however I am told, that you (as third user) would not necessarily have the credentials needed to access the resources originating from WS. You would need to be assigned as the translator in WorldServer direct by the PM (as proof reader/revisor etc.)

    2) SDLRPX packages can only be opened by the person that created the SDLPPX in the first place. It is not possible to open the SDLRPX if you did not create the package in the first place.

The easiest solution would be simply to ask the client/PM to send you a new SDLPPX with the files for revision.
