Placement of pop-up interferes with writing.

Hello,

Wondering if anything can be done about the placement of the pop-up that occurs when typing. Not the autosuggest one, but one that appears for about 3 seconds then goes away. It gets in my way constantly. The only way make sure it doesn't get in the way is to have the active segment high enough so that the pop-up is in a different location. Any way to get rid of this? Is this something I should ask dev about?

  • Hi  ,

That is the autosuggest one, but you are showing autosuggest from your fragment match results. The only way to disable it is to either disable autosuggest, or turn off fragment matching.  Maybe you could make sure your active segment is always in the middle of your screen... there is an option for this in your settings.

  • Sorry Paul, as I said, it isn't the autosuggest window that's interfering. It's the location (or the existence itself) of the other pop up. Once I move my cursor to where I'm typing, then release it, a pop up appears directly over where I'm typing. So I either have to wait or move my hands off my keyboard to the mouse to move the cursor off screen. And most times when this happens the high-performance filter or notification window or the segment status pops up. Here's another example from a minute ago. I can't see my cursor after just taking my hand off the mouse. You can just barely see the cursor behind "Cooper". That's where my eyes are.

In my other example the mouse was off somewhere safe, and the additional popup, separate from the autosuggest window, was in the way.

I'm getting the feeling that most of my complaints are features, not bugs, and if I want any improvements, I should just go to the ideas section. Am I wrong? I just wanted to know if there was a way to turn of this popup when typing. Or have it disappear immediately when typing.

  • Ah, I see. You mean the information window telling you about the tracked change? Yes, that one is appearing where the mouse is, but for me it seems to appear below the line and not on the same one. It also works in a different way for me. It appears when I hover over it, but as soon as I click where I need to be it disappears. Maybe this is related to the type of mouse you have, or the driver perhaps? We'd need to be able to reproduce this exactly. Maybe you can create a small video showing how you work in case it helps us spot what you are doing that we are not and also let us know what mouse, driver, o/s?
