target word document not translated

I am working on a project which has 3 translatable files - 2 Word's files and 1 PDF. I translated them all and finalized one by one. Unfortunately one of the Word files remains untranslated even if in Studio 2017, in the editor, it is translated. Majority of the segments are locked as I don't want them to be added to my TM, but several have "Translated" status. I also tried to use "Save target as" but id didn't work.

In the project settings I have Polish as source and English GB and US as target. I tried to convert sdlxliff of problematic document to Word abut I received an empty file and log states that both source and target languages are Polish. It seems in Trados all settings are correct, especially that 2 other files in this project do not create this problem.

Any idea what might went wrong?

Regards,

Jacek

  • Unfortunately you will have to retranslate the file, using either another Word format (if the file was a DOC), or a different Word file type. If you used Word 2007-2016, use 2007-2013 instead or the other way round.
Most probably your source Word file does contain some weird formatting. Does unfortunately happen from time to time.
If you have Studio Pro, you can use Perfect Match to perform the translation - this should also utilize segments with "Translation rejected" or "Sign-off rejected" status, when you chose the "Use current segment status" option during the process.
