SDL Trados 2017 doesn't open

I currently cannot open SDL Trados 2017. The taskbar shows that the software is currently in use, but I don't have access to the window. I click on it and nothing happens.

This morning I experienced issues opening MultiTerm (Trados was then ok). Now MultiTerm works fine, but Trados doesn't. 

I upgraded Trados 2017 from Trados 2014 2 weeks ago and I installed the Glossary converter this week. Everything has been working fine until today.

  • I'm glad the solution was found. I had a similar, but different, experience earlier today.

    I was trying to open an sdlxliff file for editing (single file, no project) and Studio appeared to freeze. The window was non-responsive.

    I discovered that a dialog box had opened and was waiting for user input. But the dialog box had opened up behind the other windows on that display.

    I only noticed it existed when I hovered my mouse over the Studio icon in the taskbar and noticed the extra window.

    When I clicked on the "missing" window in the taskbar, it moved to the foreground and I was able to give a response. Studio then opened the sdlxliff file.

    I just thought I would mention this as another possibility to check if Studio suddenly appears unresponsive or frozen.
