SDL Trados Studio does not open remote TMs on Windows 10

Question

Hi! 
 I have SDL Trados Studio 2017 installed on a desktop with Windows 8.1 and it works perfectly with a client's remote server TMs. 
 However, I tried to use the same project on the same SDL Studio software and it just won't work. I used the same installation file, deactivated on the desktop and activated on the Windows 10 notebook. It keeps saying "no server selected" although the server IS selected and Studio reports it as available. 
 Any hints?

Actually I have found a few articles exactly on this problem and right now I'm in the process of installing the suggested new files. I hope this will fix the problem.

I'm slightly confused by this post. You said the server is selected, and Studio says it is available, and yet it says there is no server available. Is it available or isn't it? Where does it say it is available and where does say it isn't? 
 
Can you perhaps share a screenshot of what you are looking at? 
 
Also, are you referring to filebased TMs sitting on a remote server, or GroupShare TMs for example?
