1 big file to be translated - two or more translators using the same file-based TM

Question

How do I handle a big file that I want to share with another translator in order to translate it? For instance, 20 pages - 2 translators working with the ONE master Translation memory? I can imagine this is basics, but I do not even know what to look for to find a solution

I have sometimes the same problem and I always put the TM on a shared drive like Google Drive. That always worked fine for me although this is for sure not the recommended solution ;-)

I think people used to do this by using the SDLXLIFF Split and Merge application from the appstore. However, this was not updated for 2017 and so didn't work, and it also had a few bugs here and there. We are working on this at the moment and have already got a working version for testing in Beta. I hope to have this released shortly, but if you would like to try it I'll happily make it available to you? It would allow you to split the large SDLXLIFF into bite sized chunks, translate them separately between your translators and then do one of two things: 
 
1. Merge the split files back together again 
2. Just update the original from the updated Translation Memory

Feel free to give us the benefit of your experience and wisdom and submit a pull request. Probably much better to make your comments in github rather than make them in here... unless you just do this for some other reason?
