TermBase Viewer on Trados 2017

Any attempt to bring up the Termbase viewer will crash my Trados 2017, although the adding of a new term seem to be working. It's only the window display command

SDL Team, please fix it urgently. The software doesn't come cheap. SO MANY people have been complaining about this happening.

I never used Multiterm 2014 as it NEVER worked on my computer (Win 7 at the time).

Now I'm using Win 8.1 64 bit and Trados is brand new and updated, as it seems.

  • Dear Paul,
I seem to have resolved the issue and now I'm enjoying the full benefits of Multiterm on Trados 2017.
The thing was that my Windows 8.1, which I had purchased some time ago but had not installed for lack of time and other reasons, was quite obsolete. I spent rather a long time allowing my newly installed Windows 8.1 to download a sizeable bunch of updates, testing multiterm in the meantime and your suggested solutions. After a few hours and restarting the system for the fifth time, the Multiterm component LAUNCHED. It seems that the heavy reliance of Trados on Windows libraries and other major components and the time when it was developed make it sensitive to system updates. Many thanks for your support to date!
