Hi everybody,
I have recently started using Trados Studio 2017 and I have just realised that my TMs are not updated aand therefore are empty.
I think this is due to the fact that I erroneously didn't tick the relevant "update" box in the TM Project settings window.
Is there a way to update the TMs, using the completed Trados bilingual files? Or is there another way to remedy my mistake?

Hello Chiara,
You go to Background tasks, select update main translation memory for every single xliff. Before doing so please verify in your xliff you confirmed all your segments and they have the status "translated". Draft segments are not entered in the TM

Just to add to what Martha suggested, you can also select your TM in the project settings and then import all your sdlxliff files containing your completed translations. So two options.
