QuickInsert: erase space after and before quotations in Spanish

 Hi,

In Spanish we don't use a space after an opening quotation/before a closing quotation, i. e.:

« ejemplo, ejemplo, ejemplo » should be «ejemplo, ejemplo, ejemplo»

Is there a way to change QuickInsert so that I don't have to erase spaces manually?

I'm working with Trados Studio 2017.

Thank you,

DGS

  • Hello DGS (DianaGibson Scarpati),

The easiest was would be to create your own Quick Insert I think.

If you go into File/Options/FileTypes (and select the file type you are working with) you can create your own Quick insert-

First- go to an example of where the extra spaces are included e.g.

and then remove the spaces so you have the following-

Then go to FILE/OPTIONS/FILE TYPES and select the file type you are working with- then Quick Insert

You then see the following- Give the new QI a name/description and select TEXT PAIR

Now paste in the word and remove the text- leaving only the quotation marks.

Tick 'Display in QuickInsert Group' and OK

Now you can use your own QI as needed.

    Hope this helps.
