SOLVED: Trados 2017 "Failed to add window command bar exceptions" - Instructions does not help

Question

I cannot open Trados. 
 I have tried 
 
 gateway.sdl.com/.../communityknowledge for both Trados and MultiTerm 
 removing projects.xml 
 reinstalling 
 
 No help, cannot work.

Hi Jussi Rosti , 
 make sure your versions of Studio and MultiTerm are up to date. To do this, if you have automatic updates set, just open each of them and accept any update offered. If you don't have automatic updates, set, go to Help > Check for Updates. It's important to have the most recent version of each of them. 
 Then, take a look here:

 A Windows Repair periodically is helpful with any heavy-duty software, especially after a Windows update. 
 If these suggestions don't help, as you have already tried reinstalling, you can get free help with licensing and installation issues that are preventing you from working, pretty fast:

 Select 'installation' from the 'Case type' dropdown and give your correct email address so that they can contact you.

Perhaps also try reset in addition towhat Ali mentioned. The error would seem to be more likely related to the user files than anything else. Rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio: 
 
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0 
 
So the path would become this: 
 
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0_old 
 
If you can't find this folder then you need to unhide your hidden files/folders: 
 
 www.howtogeek.com/.../ 
Rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio: 
 
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0

 Thank you for quick response! 
 
 Repair workaround 1 (Windows Repair) was not possible, as that option was not available. 
 However, repair workaround 2 (deleting settings) did the trick! 
 
 ( gateway.sdl.com/.../communityknowledge 
 Unfortunately, the price was that I lost all my configuration I did. I just bought and installed SDL Trados Studio 2017 Pro two days ago, and if I need to nuke my config every two days, it's hard to call productivity. 
 I regret buying 2017, 2015 worked so well! 
 In any case, I can continue my work now! Thank you so much.

Hi Jussi Rosti , 
 
Just noting that Ali dooesn't work for SDL... she just likes helping other translators :-) On updating the help with importing the profile... I'm not sure that's a good idea since you may have backed up the very problem resetting the user files resolves. Reimporting may introduce the problem again. 
 
The repair probably didn't work because it doesn't do a reset of the user files.
