Error message, alignment failed

Question

I tried to align two documents with termination in .pptx 
 I have followed the procedure I normally follow. We usually do about twenty alignments per month. 
 This time, however, Trados Studio 2017 is unable to open files. It locks. The following error message appears on the screen: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object". 
 Can anyone help me?

 Siempre he seguido el procedimiento usual. No es la primera vez, es decir vamos haciendo una veintena de alineaciones mensuales. 
 Esta vez, sin embargo, Trados Studio 2017 no consigue abrir los dos archivos. Se bloquea. En la pantalla aparece el siguiente mensaje de error: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object".

Hello Carlo Renzo Viola (Carlo Renzo Viola), 
 Are you able to provide the full error stack please as the error message 'object reference...' is very generic and does not tell us much at all. 
 However I suspect first hand, this issue will be arising from the file settings ( File/Options/File Types) and an incorrect setting.

Please check the file types are active to match the PPT format you are using and there are no exclusions etc.
