Hidden formatting codes not hidden

Question

Hi, I'm new to Studio (and struggling)...to export the translated document, I use the Word preview. I noticed that when I hit the" hidden formatting" icon in Word, it shows codes for every beginning and end of segments, as well as,the words " start/end segment". If I paste my translation into Excel for instance, all the codes appear, mixed in the translation. How do I get rid of that? What do I do wrong?

It's a little confusing what you are doing here. Presumably your source file is Word because you said you used the Word preview, but if you want to save the translated file you would use File -> Save Target Document (that's one way anyway). Shift+F12 does the same thing when the file is open for translation ion the editor. 
 
If there are hidden codes in Word perhaps they are supposed to be there? 
 
Also, why would you copy paste the translation into Excel? 
 
I'm sure I'm misunderstanding what you are trying to achieve here so a little more explanation would be helpful.
